Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions govern the contractual relationship between Teppich Stettler AG (operator of carpetmagic.com, "Carpet Magic") and its customers. Last updated: July 2026.

1. Scope

These Terms apply to all orders and purchases at Carpet Magic – to business-to-business (B2B) as well as business-to-consumer (B2C) transactions. For sales via third-party platforms (e.g. Galaxus, Manor, Ricardo, Westwing, Elle Decoration), their terms apply in addition.

2. Conclusion of contract

Placing an order forms a purchase contract. The contract is only fulfilled once the full purchase amount has reached us. If payment is not made within the agreed deadline, or the buyer proves unable or unwilling to pay, we reserve the right to resell the item. We accept no responsibility for failed internet connections or for erroneous or accidental online purchases.

3. Prices, currency & VAT

All prices are in Swiss francs (CHF) and include statutory Swiss VAT, currently 8.1 % (in force since 1 Jan 2024). We cannot accept payment in EUR, USD or other currencies. For cross-border sales, VAT is included but can be reclaimed at customs. Businesses domiciled in Switzerland or Liechtenstein can reclaim input tax. VAT no.: CHE-105.944.512.

4. Payment methods

  • Card / PayPal – Mastercard, Visa, American Express (processed securely via PayPal; we never see your card details).
  • Bank transfer / prepayment – on request we issue an invoice; the amount is due within five working days.
  • TWINT – on request.
  • Cash – possible on collection, in Swiss francs only.
  • Instalments – case by case, by arrangement.

For orders of CHF 25,000 or more we recommend a bank transfer. Existing customers may pay by invoice with a standard 30-day term; new customers pay before or on receipt. For card payments of CHF 5,000 or more we reserve the right to carry out additional identity and payment (due-diligence) checks, which may delay dispatch by 3–5 working days.

5. Delivery & shipping costs

We ship by post or courier; delivery to PO boxes is not possible. Within Switzerland, delivery takes a maximum of 10 working days, usually 2–3. Shipping within Switzerland is free from an order value of CHF 100; for very heavy shipments over 30 kg we reserve the right to charge shipping – you are informed in advance and may always collect the goods yourself. Larger orders are occasionally sent in several parcels that may arrive on different days.

As Switzerland is not part of the EU customs union, shipments abroad must be cleared through customs; the resulting customs charges and fees are borne by the customer. Deliveries that are not accepted and are returned to us are charged both ways plus an administration fee of CHF 60 (incl. VAT).

6. Returns & exchange

Carpets purchased online may be returned within 14 days of the purchase date, provided they are in the same condition as when purchased. The right of return applies exclusively to Switzerland and Liechtenstein; returns must be notified by email within the deadline. An exchange is also possible – contact our customer service and we will help you find an equivalent carpet. Return shipping is at the customer's expense; the item must reach us in the condition in which you received it.

7. Defects, transport damage & delivery errors

If you receive the wrong or a damaged item, please inform us immediately. Defects must be reported within 48 hours of receipt; after that they can no longer be claimed. Visible and hidden transport damage must additionally be reported immediately to the shipping/transport company. If you collect the carpets yourself, the transport risk is yours.

8. Products: sizes, description & authenticity

All sizes are given in centimetres and refer to the pile area (length × width), measured along the centre; fringes and edge finishes are not included. As natural fibres predominate, small deviations are possible. We describe our carpets, flatweaves and textiles as precisely as possible (dimensions, age, origin, knotting and, where possible, condition). We guarantee that all carpets are 100 % genuinely hand-knotted unless expressly stated otherwise; we issue a certificate of authenticity free of charge on request. Items in the "Fundgrube" (clearance) are deliberately selected for smaller budgets.

9. Discounts & promotions

Seasonal promotions apply exclusively to carpets that are physically in stock and can be delivered within 3–5 working days; they do not apply to made-to-order carpets or to services (cleaning, repair, valuation). Black Friday / Cyber Monday discounts apply only to purchases made directly through the online shop; such items are excluded from exchange. A return or refund is only possible for provable defects under the Swiss Code of Obligations (Art. 197 et seq. CO).

10. Services

Cleaning: our carpets are cleaned carefully by our washing partner (Knecht GmbH, Gais). Carpets are mostly natural products; in rare cases colours may bleed or change – neither we nor our washing partner can accept liability for this. Valuations & identifications are carried out to the best of our knowledge; in rare cases an error may occur. Storage: if purchased carpets, or carpets handed in for cleaning, are not collected within a reasonable period, we charge CHF 20 per carpet per calendar month; after six months and repeated attempts to make contact, we reserve the right to dispose of them. Rental: cleaning costs are charged in advance as a deposit and settled after return.

11. Disclaimer

We give no warranty as to the accuracy, correctness, timeliness or completeness of the information provided. Liability claims for material or immaterial damage arising from the use or non-use of the information are excluded. We accept no responsibility for links to external websites; their use is at your own risk. The augmented-reality feature is provided without warranty. We are not responsible for failed internet connections or technical problems during online shopping.

12. Copyright

Copyright and all other rights to the content, images, photos and files on this website belong exclusively to Teppich Stettler AG or the rights holders expressly named. Prior written consent must be obtained for the reproduction of any element.

13. Data protection

When you register or order, we store your contact details in order to process and ship your order. Your data is treated in strict confidence and is not passed on to third parties without your express consent; we delete it on request. We act in accordance with the revised Swiss Data Protection Act (revFADP, in force since 1 Sep 2023).

14. Applicable law & jurisdiction

Swiss law applies exclusively. The place of jurisdiction is Zurich, Switzerland.

15. Changes to these Terms

We adjust these Terms from time to time. We therefore recommend reading them occasionally, even as a regular customer. The version valid at the time of your order applies. Last updated: July 2026.
