Yurük means mountaineer or mountain man in Turkish and these terms often refer to the nomadic tribes of what is now Central Anatolia. The carpets are usually of intense colours, as is beautifully reflected in this carpet. The pure new sheep's wool shines beautifully and is even partially undyed.
