Yalameh carpets are among the most sought-after and arguably best-known village carpets from Persia. The geometric design of these carpets usually consists of several panels filled with diamond motifs or multiple hexagonal motifs arranged side by side. A characteristic feature is their vibrancy and rich colour palette. The carpets are of very high quality. For nomadic carpets, the knotting is relatively fine and the pile very short. The sheep’s wool is also velvety soft.
