This elegant Nain carpet from the renowned Habibian workshop is a superb example of classical Persian craftsmanship and demonstrates why the name Habibian has been associated with exceptional quality for generations. The Habibian family is considered one of the most important weaving dynasties from Nain and played a major role in establishing the international reputation of these highly refined Persian carpets. Characteristic for such pieces are the extremely precise drawing, harmonious colour palette and remarkable fineness of weave. This example features an exceptionally elegant and luminous composition of ivory, beige, cream and soft blue tones that create a calm and sophisticated atmosphere. Particularly beautiful is the balanced central medallion with its slightly square proportions, giving the carpet a refined architectural presence across the entire field. The delicate floral arabesques and scrolling vine motifs are executed with extraordinary precision and add impressive depth and movement to the design. The finely detailed border frames the composition with perfect symmetry and understated elegance. The so called 6La quality indicates a very fine and high quality Nain weave with excellent clarity of pattern and luxurious texture. High quality Nain carpets are often woven using fine wool combined with silk highlights, allowing certain ornaments to shimmer subtly depending on the light and viewing angle. Thanks to its soft and refined palette, this carpet works beautifully in both classical and contemporary interiors where an elegant Persian carpet is intended to become a sophisticated focal point. A magnificent example of Persian weaving art with timeless beauty and strong decorative presence.
