A very fine example of a rare Neyriz (Neriz) rug from southern Persian empire knotted around 1920. The blue central field is covered throughout with hooked diamonds in blue and red in matching repeats. The design consists of star diamonds and branches in different colours that are decorated in a very attractive way. Two secondary floral borders surround the elegant so-called Syrga bird border design. Some signs of wear and tear in the center field. The rug is in it's original condition. The fringes were reinforced with the so-called anchor stitch. This rug has been Professionally cleaned.
