A rare carpet from the north of Iran from the village of Soutchbolagh in the Persian province of West Azerbaijan near the border with Turkey. Very good pile height and perfect condition. Very good wash and beautiful lustre of the wool. Interesting detail, this rug is knotted entirely of wool without the cotton warp and weft threads that are often used in this type of rug.
