A notably fine and elegantly-composed specimen of the multiple prayer niche saph or "family" prayer rug, in this instance of memorably jewel-like colouring. Each mihrab panel is delineated by the Twin Pillars of Wisdom, and the prayer arches accentuated by pendant mosque lamps, in a unique Islamic tradition that has survived intact since the 14th Century. A highly decorative item, ideally suited for dramatic wall or floor display.
