Traditionally, the most desirable knotted works of the Baluch nomads have originated from the Turbat-e-Heyderi area to the South of Mashad in eastern Persia. In this outstanding specimen of the type, represents one of the oldest design approaches of the tribe, and is executed with the detail and clarity which derives from the fine quality of weave by which the 'Mashad' group of Baluchi works is distinguished. Rich, saturated dyes, and beautifully patterned yet unobtrusive border ornamentation are further hallmarks of this most sought-after category of authentic Baluch knotting.
