This antique Kagisman runner measuring 193 x 87 cm is a characterful example of Kurdish tribal weaving from Southern Eastern Anatolia. Kagisman rugs are among the rarer and more distinctive weavings of Anatolia and are appreciated for their expressive colours, geometric tribal motifs and powerful visual presence. Particularly striking are the large stylised medallions extending along the length of the rug, giving it a strong architectural structure and tribal identity. Warm oranges, reds and deep blue tones create a vibrant colour palette with the natural harmony often found in older Anatolian nomadic rugs. Rooted in Kurdish weaving traditions, this rug reflects authentic craftsmanship and a strong cultural identity. Some repairs have been carried out over the course of its life, yet the colours remain beautifully preserved and the pile height is still very good, allowing the rug to maintain its rich visual appeal. Signs of age and restoration often add depth and authenticity to antique tribal rugs. Its runner format makes it ideal for hallways, entrances or narrower spaces where a rug with personality and history is desired. A rare one of a kind piece with strong nomadic character and authentic Anatolian charm.
