Mellow colour harmonies and impressively spacious decorative execution distinguish this outstanding example of the celebrated Ziegler classification. Originally created in the exclusive west Persian knotting workshops of Sultanabad established by the famous nineteenth century production house of Messrs. Ziegler & Co., this unmistakable approach subsequently became one of the most sought-after of Eastern carpet styles following the high favour it enjoyed among international decorators and interior designers. Of superbly luxurious calibre, with a deep pile of lustrous Chobi lambswool, and with the highly stylised floral arrangement presented in both field and border benefiting from the hallmark Ziegler attributes of elegantly uncluttered draughtsmanship and subtly nuanced tonal expression, this is a flawlessly crafted example from a rare and greatly valued connoisseur category, of incomparable decorative and artistic achievement. This carpet is in mint condition. Made from Hard twist wool and vegetable dye stuffs.
