This impressive Kuba Kilim measuring 343 x 176 cm originates from the Caucasus and displays the bold geometric visual language for which the region is renowned. Kuba kilims are among the best known flatweaves from the northeastern Caucasus and are appreciated for their strong colours and striking geometric compositions. Horizontal bands with medallions, diamonds and tribal motifs create rhythm and visual energy. Rich blue and red tones combined with white and darker accents give the piece a powerful graphic character. The kilim remains in overall good condition with slight fraying at the ends and a tear in the main field that can easily be repaired. No further repairs or stains are present.
