An exceptional Srinagar carpet from Kashmir, woven in the traditional hunting pattern and inspired by the famous Rockefeller Carpet housed in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. This finely knotted piece reflects the highest level of craftsmanship associated with Kashmiri workshops, renowned for their precision, balanced compositions and refined colour palettes. The dense arrangement of floral scrolls, animals and hunting scenes creates a rich yet harmonious overall appearance. High quality natural fibres are used throughout, with silk carefully incorporated to enhance detail, depth and luminosity. Such elegance and intricacy can only be achieved with silk, as other fibres are too coarse for this level of refinement. The carpet is soft underfoot, durable and matures beautifully over time.
