This small Belouch salt bag comes from Afghanistan and was traditionally used for storing and carrying salt or spices. The front is finely hand-knotted in wool and features a strong stepped medallion in dark blue, white and red, framed by geometric borders with classic protective symbols. The back is flatwoven in kilim technique and kept deliberately simple. A particularly charming detail is the original braided wool shoulder cord, showing how the bag was originally worn. The colours remain clear, the wool feels lively and the condition is good with only light signs of use.
