This exceptionally fine Isfahan Ahmadi rug originates from the workshop of master weaver Ahmadi and represents one of the finest examples of traditional Persian carpet craftsmanship. For centuries, Isfahan has been recognised as one of the most prestigious weaving centres in Persia and is renowned throughout the world for producing carpets of extraordinary refinement, elegance and technical excellence. Measuring 212 x 135 cm, this remarkable one of a kind rug combines artistic sophistication with outstanding craftsmanship and reflects the highest standards associated with the great weaving workshops of Isfahan. The composition is centred around an impressive medallion set upon a deep navy blue field. Surrounding the centre is an intricate arrangement of floral arabesques, palmettes, blossoms and scrolling vines, all executed with exceptional precision. Rich shades of navy blue, red, ivory, beige and subtle golden accents create a sophisticated colour palette full of depth and harmony. One of the most notable features of this rug is the use of premium kork wool sourced from the soft neck and shoulder area of the sheep. This highly prized material allows for an exceptionally fine knot structure and contributes to the luxurious texture of the pile. The surface displays a soft, almost silky handle and an elegant natural sheen. Another important characteristic is the presence of blue warp and weft threads, a feature often associated with superior Isfahan production and appreciated by collectors and specialists alike. The beautifully designed border frames the central field perfectly and enhances the balance of the overall composition. Every flower, tendril and decorative detail demonstrates the remarkable skill of the Ahmadi workshop and the rich artistic heritage of Persian weaving. Matching areas of abrasion can be found on both sides of the central medallion. These signs of age appear balanced and harmonious and do not detract from the beauty of the rug. Instead, they contribute to its authenticity and provide evidence of its history as a genuine handmade piece. Many enthusiasts value such characteristics because they distinguish a true collector's item from a recently manufactured reproduction. As a unique piece, this Isfahan Ahmadi rug offers both decorative appeal and collector interest. It is ideally suited to elegant interiors, libraries, reception rooms and refined private collections. Its remarkable fineness, harmonious design and exceptional craftsmanship make it a distinguished example of Persian weaving that will continue to impress for generations.
