The Saruk, Sarukh, Sarug, Sarouk comes from the western Ferahan region. The collection centre of these oriental carpets is Sultanabad, also known as Arak. The carpet has a proud past, then declined in quality, but is now regaining great value due to increasing quality and care in production. It can be found in many common sizes. The warp and weft are made of cotton. The pile of sheep's wool is tied with the Persian knot. The Saruk has a knot density of up to 500,000 knots per square metre. Carpetportal.c
