A very finely crafted Nain with a filigree pattern in traditional blue and beige colours. This beautiful and finely knotted rug made of pure new wool and natural silk comes from the small but world-famous city of Nain, located east of Isfahan in the great Lut desert in central Persia, and represents one of the highest levels of Persian master workshop weaving. The complexity and clarity of the draughtsmanship applied to the classical medallion composition, the grace with which the floral decoration of the field was orchestrated, and the calmness of the ornamental rhythm of the border, all combine to create a visual statement of unrivalled elegance. The famous Nain palette of delicate, predominantly pastel shades perfectly captures the pattern and its pencil-like design, while the sumptuous Kurk wool of the fine pile is richly inlaid throughout with glittering accents of silk inlay.
