Kashmar The city of Kashmar is located in the north-east of Persia, slightly south of Mashad. Typical for Kashmar carpets are the well-known vase patterns (Zirhakani). Kashmar carpets are very well knotted and tend to be larger in size. Their variety of colours and playful stylistic elements are the main reason for their popularity, even among Persians. The light colour of this example is particularly beautiful.
