An authentic antique Yamouth Juval from Central Asia featuring classic Turkmen character and beautiful nomadic design. This hand knotted collector’s piece originates from the weaving traditions of the Yamouth or Yomud tribes and displays the characteristic gul motifs that have been among the most recognisable symbols of Turkmen weaving for centuries. The warm deep red field is complemented by dark blue, black, ivory and beige accents, creating a powerful yet harmonious visual presence. Particularly attractive is the regular arrangement of the traditional guls across the central field, giving the piece its architectural structure and unmistakable Turkmen elegance. The finely detailed borders with geometric ornaments and tribal motifs frame the composition beautifully and further enhance its decorative impact. Juval pieces were originally used as large nomadic storage bags or functional interior textiles within yurts, giving them a highly authentic and original character. This example stands out through its attractive colours created entirely with natural vegetable dyes which have developed a beautiful patina over time. The visible signs of wear underline the honesty and history of the piece and add further collector appeal. Yamouth and Yomud weavings are regarded among the most important nomadic textiles of Central Asia and are admired worldwide for their geometric clarity, rich colours and cultural authenticity. Measuring 120 x 72 cm, this piece works beautifully as a decorative collector’s object, wall hanging or ethnic accent within modern or traditional interiors. An authentic Turkmen nomadic weaving full of history, soul and decorative strength.
