This rare Tehran carpet stands out for its striking colour composition and its clear, almost architectural structure. The deep blue field is organised by twelve fully developed medallions and three half medallions, creating a rhythmic and well balanced layout across the entire surface. A particularly attractive feature is the natural abrash, which adds depth, movement and a lively patina to the carpet. The use of blue weft threads is a hallmark of high quality Tehran weaving and underlines the refined craftsmanship of this piece. Its predominantly geometric ornamentation is highly unusual for Tehran carpets, which are more commonly floral, making this example a true rarity. With a knot density of approximately 400,000 to 450,000 knots per square metre, the carpet displays a fine and precise weave with excellent definition. A powerful and distinctive collector’s piece that combines tradition, elegance and individuality.
