A striking unique Persian workshop item from the famous Kurdish knotting centre of Senneh, origin of some of the finest Persian carpets ever knotted, in which a superbly-proportioned herati scheme of stylised foliate and floral clusters encompasses a focal geometric medallion lozenge in the elegantly balanced field panel. The distinctive single-wefted structure which distinguishes true Senneh works is employed to superb effect in the expression of this classic design, while the glowing dye shades of the origin add considerably to the item's strong decorative and collectable appeal.
