This northwest Persian runner is a fine example of bold village craftsmanship, featuring a striking sequence of large diamond medallions, each built around a central cross motif with archaic house and tower shapes. The stepped outlines and angular secondary motifs create a strong rhythmic flow, making this piece ideal for hallways or narrow interiors. Rich madder red, deep indigo and warm ivory form the base palette, highlighted by turquoise and violet blue accents. A well structured multi layered border frames the field with graphic clarity. The slightly lustrous wool and even knotting point to a high quality village weaving from the first half of the 20th century. Gentle wear and natural patina add to the authentic vintage character of this distinctive runner.
