Leshgi Kazak

This attractive Kazak rug has a beautiful blue and red colour combination for an antique Caucasian Kazak, particularly the use of blue Leshgi medallions within the main red field. The main field consists of three Leshgi stars, two of which are on the opposite side of the central star, which stands out with its mirror-image colours, but uses the blue colour in the outer space around the star. The abrashes (colour changes) add to the character and vibrancy of this piece and is an exemplary weave. Decorated with a beautiful tis rug is in used condition and with a professional cleaning is ready for daily use. The pile is low and has some more or less visible repairs. The beautiful and elaborate border rounds off this genuine Leshgi Kazak. This type of rug is no longer knotted and is therefore highly collectible.
