A small yet highly distinctive specimen of the renowned Central Anatolian village rugs of Dosemealti, in which the traditional abstract design approach of the origin is expressed in the rich and warm dye shades for which the type is so highly regarded. Examples of Dosemealti weavings survive from the early 19th Century, and the stylistic approach of the village's peasant rug makers has remained entirely consistent up until the present day, without showing any trace of outside influence. Accordingly, there are few more authentic knotting traditions than that exhibited in this charming work.
