This Hamadan rug has many elements of a Caucasian rug, not least because of the colour and the triple medallion star pattern, which is rarely found in Hamadan rugs. However, the geographical location of the Hamadan region near Azerbaijan means that patterns from Caucasian carpets are sometimes adopted. Well preserved with beautiful finishes on both sides and in generally good condition.
