Kashkuli carpets can be categorised as Shiraz carpets due to their common area of origin and the similarity of their patterns, but they have special characteristics. They are woven by the Kashkuli tribe, who live in the western part of the Fars plateau. They are the most culturally advanced of all the nomadic tribes in the Fars region. The Kashkuli carpets are made of better wool with greater care; the colours are more varied and pleasant; the knot density (Turkish knots) is higher.
