Beautiful Lilliehan rug in an unusual size. These village rugs usually come in small masses. The weaving is in the Hamadan (Ekbatan) tradition which is often favoured for its beautiful wool. These carpets have brought Persian floor art to the West. Cecil E. Edwards describes the Hamadan carpets very specifically in his major work The Persian Carpet. Very attractive price.
