This decorative Ziegler shows its beautiful border and typical floral pattern on a rich red background. Ziegler carpets were the first decorative carpets to be knotted in Arak in Iran for the European market. The company, which was based in Switzerland and England, was regarded as a pioneer in carpet development at the beginning of the 20th century. The patterns are reminiscent of both Persian and European designs. The wool is spun and dyed with vegetable dyes.
