This rug, with hints of Ferahan as well as the Hamadan region, is made by Kurdish nomads and semi-nomads. Similar to the Bidjar, the weft of the Goltuk is also beaten down strongly, which makes the carpet hard. If it is rolled up, then only with the pile facing outwards, otherwise it may break. Despite its somewhat cool colours (grey-bluish, brown-green etc.), it sometimes also shows warmer shades. Goltuk is a highly prized carpet and very popular.
