This very finely knotted carpet comes from the city of Ghom in central Persia. Today they are among the finest carpets in Iran and are very carefully knotted, washed and the so-called finishing is also excellent on these carpets. The knotting is extremely high compared to other Persian carpets. Ghom silk carpets have well over 1 million knots per square metre.
