Beni Ourain rugs owe their name to the Berber tribe of the same name originating from north-eastern foothills of the Middle to High Atlas Mountains in Marocco. The production of these carpets is traditionally reserved to tribal women and require not only manual determiniation and skill but above all perseverance. It often takes several months to complete one single carpet. Even though there are now fancy and more colourful versions of the Beni Ourain being made, the colour combination of these classic rugs are limited to the natural, undyed colours of the sheep and ranges from light beige to ivory white, with black, grey or brown design elements. Another characteristic of a Beni Ourain rugs are the geometric patterns often inthe shape of diamonds or zigzag lines.

Thanks to its restrained and timeless design, a Beni Ourain rugs fit into any room setting and are an excellent choice for a bedroom, a living room, a children's rooms, hallways or even offices.

Each rug is unique and made by Hand.
